You are bidding on a very fine and rare antique (18th century) 4/4 violin, labeled Carlo Antonio Testore figlio maggiore del fu Carlo Giuseppe in Contrada larga al fegno dell'Aquila Milano 1755. The violin was valuated in music shop as a workshop of C.A. Testore. The instrument is in ready to play condition with some old professional repairs, grafted scroll, new rosewood set up and superieur despiau bridge. The violin has an excellent irregular grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of beautiful flamed maple. The whole length of the violin is 587 mm and the back 352 mm. String length 325 mm.
