Die Fabrik für Farbtafeln für Aquarelle und Waschmittel wurde 1788 in Paris gegründet.
Es wurde von Herrn P. C. Lambertye gegründet und 1822 von Herrn Panier und 1850 von Herrn J. M. PAILLARD übernommen.
PAILLARD-Aquarelle wurden von Vincent Van Gogh selbst verwendet.
Ein Auszug aus Vincents Brief an seinen Bruder Theo:
Etten Oktober 1881
... letzte Woche gab mir Prinsenhages Onkel eine ziemlich anständige Schachtel mit Farben, auf jeden Fall anständig genug für einen Anfänger (das sind PAILLARD-Farben).
Ich freue mich sehr darüber.
Ich habe sofort ein Aquarell ausprobiert .
An excerpt from Vincent's letter to his brother Theo: Etten October 1881 ... last week Prinsenhage's uncle gave me a pretty decent box of colors, definitely decent enough for a beginner (these are PAILLARD colors).
I'm very glad about that.
I immediately tried a watercolor.
La fabrique de tablettes de couleurs pour l'aquarelle et le lavis a vu le jour à Paris en 1788.
Créée par Mr P.C. Lambertye, elle a été reprise en 1822 par Mr Panier puis en 1850 par Mr J.M. PAILLARD.
Les aquarelles PAILLARD ont été utilisées par Vincent Van Gogh lui même.

... la semaine dernière, l'oncle de Prinsenhage m'a fait cadeau d'une boîte de couleurs assez convenable, en tout cas assez convenable pour un débutant (ce sont des couleurs PAILLARD). J'en suis très heureux. Tout de suite, j'ai essayé une aquarelle .
