Aus einen Nachlass biete ich eine antike Zeremonialmaske
in noch hervorragende Erhaltung mit auffälligen Details
aus Papua-Neuguinea an. Ü
ber die genaue Zweckmäßigkeit dieser sehr langen und schweren Maske weiß ich leider nichts genaueres.
Heimat: Papua-Neuguinea - Mundengai Sepik
Länge ca. 94 cm
Breiteste Stelle: ca. 22 cm, zu den Enden schmaler auslaufend
Tiefe inkl. Kopf ca. 14 cm
Entstehungszeit: geschätzt ca. Ende 19 bis Anfang 20. Jahrhundert. Evtl. sogar noch älter, da bin ich aber kein Experte, um dieses genau zu beurteilen.

ie imposante Maske hat Umwicklungen aus Raffiabast
. Auf der Maske sind 2 reichlich verzierte Köpfe. Die Augen sind
mit
Kauri Muscheln ausgeschmückt. Die wunderschönen Schnitzereien/ Einkerbungen in der Maske sind kunstvoll weiß und erfarbend bemalt. Aufgrund des Alters aber schon verblasst.

:
Altersbedingt guter zeitgemäßer Originalzustand; Trocknungsrisse im Holz /Fehlstellen am Bast sind keine Beschädigungen, sondern ganz natürliche Vorgänge, die bei Naturmaterialien wie dieser Maske im Laufe der Jahre entstehen können. Also bitte nur kaufen, wer sich dessen bewusst ist und bei so alten Kunstobjekten keine Neuware erwartet. (Bilder sorgfältig prüfen)!!

Tribal Art * Beautiful, very old antique ceremonial mask with raffia from Mundengai Sepik / Papua New Guinea
From an estate I am offering an antique ceremonial mask in excellent condition with striking details from Papua New Guinea. Unfortunately, I don't know anything more about the exact purpose of this very long and heavy mask.
Origin: Papua New Guinea - Mundengai Sepik Length
approx. 94 cm
Widest point: approx. 22 cm, narrowing towards the ends
Depth including head approx. 14 cm
Date of origin: estimated around the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century. Possibly even older, but I'm not an expert to judge this exactly.
The imposing mask is wrapped in raffia. On the mask are 2 richly decorated heads. The eyes are decorated with cowrie shells. The beautiful carvings/indentations in the mask are intricately painted white and blushing. But already faded due to age. -------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------
Condition
:
Age-related good contemporary original condition;
Drying cracks in the wood / imperfections in the bast are not damage, but quite natural processes that can occur over the years with natural materials such as this mask.
So please only buy if you are aware of this and do not expect new goods from such old art objects.
