This Kits have the function to replace the used: Foam Rings, Crush Washers and Crush Washers Retainers (when exist), during a Suspension Fork Lower Legs service. Compatible with almost 32/34/35/36/40 mm Stanchions Suspension Forks on the market, such as: Fox, BOS, RockShox, SR SUNTOUR, Magura, Manitou, Maverick and X-Fusion BUT you must check your Foam Rings thickness compatibility (≤ 6 mm) consulting the manufacturer of your Fork.
Foam Rings
Foam Rings have as main functions: lubricate the Stanchions and partially the Dust Wipers Seals, achieving this due to its ability to absorb and retain the Lower Legs lubricating oil (bath oil). Are the last defense line against the entrance of debris into the Lower Legs absorbing some of the debris that pass through the Dust Wipers Seals. Are made from a polyurethane foam with special additives giving them ideal characteristics for the intended use, such as: good oil absorption and retention, good resistance to petroleum derived oils and good wear resistance.
Crush Washers
Crush Washers have the function to create seals between the Lower Legs and the corresponding bottom bolts by tightening them to a specific torque [e.g. Fox recommend 5.7 N∙m (50 in/lb) and RockShox 7.3 N∙m (65 in/lb)] where the Crush Washers deform plastically (permanently) preventing leakages of the Lower Legs lubricating oil (bath oil).
Due to the plastic deformation suffered by the Crush Washers whenever tightened, every time the bottom bolts of the Lower Legs are loosened for any type of maintenance it is highly recommended to replace the used Crush Washers for new ones in order to prevent leakages of the Lower Legs lubricating oil.
AZ Suspension Crush Washers are made from an engineering thermoplastic with ideal characteristics for the intended use, such as: low liquid absorption, good mechanical properties over a wide range of temperatures, high resistance to petroleum derived oils, high fatigue strength, high flexural strength and excellent dimensional stability.
